Jennie worked with two primary schools in the Derbyshire Peak District to explore the history and wildlife of Millers Dale Nature Reserve. They created a series of shadow scenes, the children performed with silhouettes of birds, animals, wheelbarrows and pickaxes against dramatic silhouettes of Millers Dale’s viaducts and quarries.
Incorporating some of the children’s performances, Jennie created ‘Shadows and Steam’ a five minute silhouette film showing the arrival and eventual departure of the steam trains. This film was shown alongside the children’s films in a limekiln at a Derbyshire Wildlife event at Millers Dale Nature Reserve in July 2011.
