Life Lines is a live shadow show developed from Jennie's Silhouette Journeys installation at Royal Brompton Hospital. Jennie conceived the show, made the objects and operates them with the assistance of Zsuzsa Kohan.Life Lines invites us into a mysterious world, where we join a lady washing under a giant soap dispenser before encountering a procession of characters, inspired by hospital equipment. A breathing machine, eats from her hand and she comforts a forlorn dripstand, as a saxophone player rides by on a penny farthing attached to oxygen cylinders. A deep-sea diver completes the procession, becoming enveloped in blue watery waves. Multicoloured balloons carry a girl up to the moon, which rises above the screen followed by an astronaut, who settles on its surface.
This fifteen minute show is accompanied by an original, live soundtrack by Victoria Hume.
The show has so far been performed at the Royal Brompton Hospital and at Jackson’s Lane ‘Secret Theatre’ in 2009. It is suitable for all ages and is available for bookings.
